Position Title: Sr. Project Manager, Advanced Systems R&D
We are currently recruiting for a Sr. Project Manager for our client in the Piscataway, NJ area.
Responsibilities:
This is a general management position accountable for the delivery of product development projects in Piscataway, NJ - on time, on budget, and to established specifications. Manages complex (often global) and high-investment/FTE projects, represents Piscataway site for project reviews, monitors compliance to PRD, provides training and expertise for PRD/eNPI, and supports the leadership team via the provision of project budget and tracking data.
The successful candidate will be expected to exhibit strong leadership qualities to:
- Manage selected projects as required
- Coordinate with the leadership team to drive on-time, on-budget, to-specification delivery of the site projects
- Identify opportunities to drive project efficiency, quality and cost control via process and creative approaches
- Mentor Project Managers ensuring the highest standard of project management is reached. Introduces the latest tools and approaches.
Required Qualifications:
- BS in Life Sciences (Biology, Microbiology), software or engineering
- Five years project management experience successfully leading scientific/engineering teams for complex projects >$10m investment with global teams of >15 FTE
- Certification in Project Management
- Ability to interpret professional articles, technical procedures and government regulations
- Demonstrated capability in writing reports, both technical and project based
- Demonstrated ability to present ideas, results, and project financials effectively in both formal and informal settings
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work in the US
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Ability to travel 20% of time including international travel
Desired Qualifications:
- MS in Life Sciences, software or engineering
- Strong influencing skills in a cross-functional context
- Demonstrated ability to work with the Commercial organization
- Demonstrated ability to deliver to deadlines
- Strong Business awareness and ability to make recommendations and priorities in the site project based upon Company strategy
- Understanding of corporate finance
- Six Sigma training and certification (Green Belt) or equivalent quality management practices
- Management training in leadership and team building
