Position Title: Principal Project Manager, Power Generation Industry
We are currently searching for an experienced Project Manager to work in the Philadelphia, PA area for a potential multi-year assignment.
Position Description: Manage assigned projects utilizing standard company project management processes and procedures; act as the single point of contact while providing leadership for project teams in the successful implementation of these policies and procedures. This position may include the management of shutdowns and major facilities projects.
The position is generally used for strategic and large dollar projects that require integration of cross-functional organizations including entities outside of the company.
The area of primary responsibility includes the Philadelphia/Delaware Valley area, with occasional travel required outside of this region.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities:
- Manage the scope, quality, schedule adherence and budget of assigned projects.
- Provide direction and leadership to project team members throughout the project
- Provide management of project contracts as required.
- Provide leadership and project management support to plant operations, engineering, and maintenance.
- Work closely with station managers to align project planning with station outages and plant operation.
- Prepare the necessary documents for project justification and approval.
- Coach and mentor other project managers and site personnel using these processes.
Position specifications:
Minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Science
- 10 years power plant experience with progressive responsibilities in operations and maintenance.
- Demonstrated strong negotiation and communication skills
- Demonstrated strong skills with all Microsoft Office Suite programs (Excel a must) and Microsoft Project
- PMP certified or certification complete within 2 years of starting position
- Demonstrated Senior level Project management experience with large projects and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership skills operating in a high performance culture
- Demonstrated business acumen and proven estimating, budgeting, and cost control experience.
Preferred:
- Demonstrated supervisory and/or management experience in plant operations and/or maintenance
- Knowledge of Passport contract management system
- Experience with EPS and financial analysis processes for large capital projects
- General knowledge of power plant environmental issues, air, and water regulations
- Experience with project estimating, budgeting, cost tracking and control. Knowledge of e-PBAT system
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations with little direction
