Position Title: Program Coordinator
We are currently recruiting for a Program Coordinator to fill a permanent full-time position for a Biopharmaceutical client in the Tarrytown, NY area.
General Scope of Work
The primary focus of this position is supporting the program manager in the management of the end to end drug development process.
The role will include supporting the Program Manager in support of a therapeutic area. Program Coordinators will have an understanding of Project Management principles. Key skills include:
- Problem Solving: typically involved in task related activities, solving routine problems of limited scope by following established policies and procedures.
- Knowledge: limited to the use and application of basic principles, theories and concepts
- Typical activities involve setting up and facilitating meetings, maintaining databases, collecting information, writing minutes and following up on action items
Job Description
- Utilizes basic project management techniques to coordinate the operational aspects of projects in order to facilitate their evolution through one or more functional areas.
- Creates and maintains timelines, agendas, budgets, resourcing requirements, rolling summaries and other planning tools required to facilitate coordination of the project(s).
- Provides support in assessing needs in order to achieve timeline, quality and project goals. Develops good communication and working relationships with department leaders, line managers and individuals within each functional group.
- Functions as liaison b/w functional areas in order to facilitate program planning and budgeting. Example: Program Management, Research, Pre-clinical Development, Regulatory, Clinical, Intellectual Property, Alliance Management, Protein Sciences, Manufacturing, Process Development, Collaborators, Partners, Consultants, Service Providers.
Relevant Skills
- Communication skills, including, but not limited to, excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Organization, planning and tracking skills, including, but not limited to, ability to handle multiple projects, and excellent time management skills; both project and self.
- Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, along with general familiarity with databases / servers.
- Use basic Project Management Skills to advance a project from inception to completion.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- BS / MS with 3 - 5 years relevant Project Management experience
